Our Slot Car Tracks

It all started with Autumn Hills.  A two-lane Scalextric track that we detailed, then later painted and copper-taped.  We learned a lot about tracks and lap counters and power relays.  We figured out which controllers worked best and which cars we enjoyed.  It was the scene of quite a few NASTE races.  The night racng under the lights was always a special treat.  The track still exists as the home track of Rico and AJ Locati.  It's also appeared in proxy races with more on the way.

A few years after we built the Hills we acquired an SCX Digital track.  After a few months of life on the floor we adjusted the garage to fit and found room for it.  Jacquelin Park Speedway now offers racing for up to 6 cars in a digital format.  It's clearly not the same, old slot car racing from my childhood.  Multiple cars racing on the same lane, fuel management, there's a lot to keep track of beyond just getting around the next corner.

A year or so after the completion of the Park, we followed an offer on the SCI forums and picked up a free 3-lane wood-routed track - as long as we were willing to come get it.  We jumped at the chance and brought it home, set it up and promptly re-did many things.  It was a good time to have already learned about lap counters and power relays.  Soon Penguin Point Raceway was ready for action conducting it's first events as part of the SCX WorldWide Rally Proxy with live video feeds.  Featuring magna-braid and an extremely grippy surface, it's tight, twisty layout provides great racing action.

Let's race.  Ready, set, go!
